Miss-Fit at MIT- Chapter Two: Three Guys and a Girl on a Flight

A lot of planning went into which flight to take. Thanks to MJ, the super saver- he always tries to look for the best deals. Finally we settled on an LH flight via Munich. That was the longest flight of my life, until then. I didn't know I was in for worse flights, but thats another story.

On the morning of 19th of August, 2008, all 42 kgs of me reached Indira Gandhi International Airport carrying all 42 kgs of my belongings in two bags. I was late, as usual. I met MJ, Sid and Bajjo at the airport. The jugaadu MJ took us directly to baggage check in, without needing to wait in a long line that is usually characteristic of all international flights at IGI. He somehow even managed to convince the ground staff to disregard all the extra kgs that these guys were carrying. And I thought traveling heavy was a female thing!

So, after all the good byes, check in, all the paraphernalia that is part of international travel, we finally got on the flight. Sitting next to us was a gori, probably double -or maybe even triple- our age. But, boys being boys, they got all excited about her. The next few hours was pure entertainment for me as I watched them making complete fools of them selves by climbing over each other to talk to her. She apparently was an au pair who was traveling with her daughter. She even made them an offer to come stay with them in her apartment in the US. True story, Barney style.

I’m going to skip over rest of the flight because my memory of it hazy. It was probably too boring for me to remember. Fast forward, we landed in Boston.
